Back on the Blog – And My Skincare Routine!

It feels good to be back here with you. If you saw my last video, you’ll know that Jackie and I were both under the weather for a bit—but we made the most of it by escaping Paris during Bastille Day. (A little less noise, a little more peace!)

Right now, I’m still away from Paris, taking a break from the August heat. That means there won’t be any new videos until I’m back—but there’s no reason I can’t get a blog or two up while I’m away.

Until now, though, the website has been quiet because it was down while we worked on some backend updates. If you received multiple email notifications about older blog posts during that time, my apologies! That glitch was part of the problem—but it’s since been fixed.

So as a proper “welcome back” to the blog, I thought I’d answer something I’ve been asked about quite a bit: my daily skincare routine.

Five hands holding different skincare products, including dropper bottles, a jar, a small tube, and a pump bottle, against a beige background.

I don’t have a particularly strict regimen, but there are a few things I do consistently and products I always keep on hand. I don’t stick to one brand—I’ve tried everything from long-established names to small, indie startups, at all price points. What I use really depends on what my skin needs at the time.

Here are my essentials:

  • Gentle facial cleanser – A soft, non-stripping cleanser to keep my skin feeling fresh.

  • Serum – I change this up depending on whether my skin needs hydration, brightening, or a boost of firmness.

  • Moisturizer – Something lightweight in the summer, richer in the winter.

  • Sunscreen – Always, always, always. This one is non-negotiable!

Every so often, I treat myself to a facial—either when my skin feels congested or simply because I want an hour to relax. Skincare is as much about caring for my mind as it is about my face.

It’s lovely to be back here with you, and I’m looking forward to sharing more soon.

🤍, Lois
