Paris Isn’t a Dream Come True… But I’m Making It Mine

I always knew the dream of Paris would differ from the reality. But oh boy… some days, that contrast really hits home.

It’s been just over two and a half months since I moved into my little Paris apartment, and while I’m settling in, I’ve also been faced with some frustrating realities. French bureaucracy, unexpected shipping hurdles, tech struggles, and moments of loneliness have all made their appearance—sometimes before my morning coffee!

Still, amidst the chaos, I’ve found small ways to make this space feel like mine.

One of those moments? Creating a cozy tablescape on a coffee table I can’t use the way I intended. It’s become a beautiful little corner of comfort—a visual reminder that even when things don’t go according to plan, beauty can still bloom.

A Paris apartment windowsill tablescape featuring lush white orchids, vibrant green potted plants, and a modern wooden and glass coffee table, with a view of classic Haussmann-style buildings through tall paned windows.

This small act warmed up my otherwise minimalist space and gave me a moment of joy each time I passed by. It’s not about perfection—it’s about presence.

In my latest video, I share the unfiltered truth about what life in Paris has really been like. It’s not all croissants and romance, but it is real—and I think that counts for something.
