Little by Little, I'm Settling In ~ Petit à Petit, Je M’installe

I’m writing to you from my very own apartment in Paris! I’ve officially moved into my long-term home here in the city, and while I’m still not feeling totally settled, I can say this much: I’m right where I’m supposed to be.

The neighborhood is still revealing itself to me, but I’ve already stumbled across moments that feel straight out of a dream. Just the other day, while walking around, I passed the most charming flower shop in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. I couldn’t help but snap a photo—it was exactly the kind of beauty I imagined when I thought of living in Paris.

And the food? Let’s just say I’ve been eating incredibly well. A mortadella sandwich on focaccia with pesto mayo nearly brought tears to my eyes. It looked amazing and tasted even better—and I spent less on it than I ever would have back in Los Angeles. Paris keeps surprising me in the best ways.

Now, about the apartment. It’s small. That was never in question—I always knew I’d be trading square footage for experience. But I didn’t anticipate how freeing it would feel to live with less. There’s not much storage, and that’s actually turned out to be a gift. It’s forced me to be intentional. To let go of the “just in case” items. To only surround myself with what I actually love and use.

And while it’s compact, it’s chic. Every little detail has a sense of style and care that makes it feel special. It’s not perfect—but it’s mine. And I’m learning that’s more than enough.

We’re planning to start videos back up in April, and I can’t wait to connect with you again face-to-face. Until then, I’ll keep you posted here on the blog, one update at a time.

With love from Paris

🤍,

Lois
