Finding My Breath in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara wasn’t necessarily on my roadmap, but when I had a choice of where to spend these weeks in California, something about this coastal city called to me.
And I’m so glad I listened.

After the bustle and heat of Paris in summertime, being here has given me the space to catch my breath. The ocean air is softer, the pace a little slower, and I find myself lingering on simple pleasures like morning walks, fresh markets, and the golden light of late summer.
Paris has its magic, of course, but sometimes stepping away helps you see more clearly. Here, with the sound of the waves as my backdrop, I’ve been able to think about what I want, what I value, and how I want the next chapter to feel.
It’s not about rushing to any answers. It’s about giving myself the grace to pause. Life has a way of moving quickly, and I’ve realized how important it is to make room for reflection. Santa Barbara is giving me just that.
Have you ever noticed how a change of scenery helps you find perspective? For me, these days are reminding me that clarity often comes in the quiet moments. And I’m holding on to that as I look ahead.
🤍,
Lois
