Finding the Joy in the Journey

It’s hard to believe, but in just one more week, I’ll be moving into what will be my new home in France. After months of planning, countless hurdles, and moments of doubt, I’m finally at the cusp of settling in for real.

This past week, I said goodbye to my dear friend Lupe, who flew with me and Jackie to help ease this transition. Having her here was a comfort I didn’t know I’d need so much. Now, as I navigate these final days in my temporary apartment, I’m focusing on the positives—on the little joys that remind me exactly why I chose Paris in the first place.

Walking through the neighborhood has been a gift. Every corner has a new discovery, whether it’s a hidden market with the freshest produce, a centuries-old church tucked between modern buildings, or simply the energy of the streets as people go about their day. Paris has a way of making even the smallest, most mundane moments feel special.

It would be easy to let uncertainty cloud the excitement, but when I slow down and take it all in—the beauty, the history, the rhythm of daily life—I remember why I took this leap. Paris isn’t just a city; it’s a feeling, a dream that I’ve worked so hard to make real. And now, as I stand on the edge of this next chapter, I choose to embrace it with gratitude.

A new home, a fresh start, and a million more discoveries waiting just outside my door.
P.S. Thank you for following along on this journey. I can’t wait to share more once I’m settled in!
Love, Lois 🤍
